We Care is a public charitable trust, registered in Bangalore, India, on 30th January 1999. We are a secular, non-governmental, non-political and non-religious trust. Our benefactors and beneficiaries include people without discrimination of religion, race, caste, language, gender or colour. We associate ourselves with individuals and associations of people of goodwill.

Our vision is the overall human growth and development of every human person. Our primary objective is to support and implement
programmers for the benefit of the underprivileged. The current areas of involvement are:

- education of children
- rehabilitation of physically and mentally challenged people
- financial support of the sick, infirm and dying
- empowerment of women in distress and the girl child
- food, clothing and shelter for the poor
- capacity building for staff, volunteers, students, parents and others

The scope of our programmes are limited to the geographical boundaries of the Indian Union. |

AIFO
BIENNIAL MEETING 2011: A meeting of all the project partners of AIFO (Amici) was held on 2nd, 3rd and 4th November 2011 at Maitreya, Bangalore. The aim of the meeting was to provide an opportunity for the Executive Committee of AIFO and the project partners to have an understanding among themselves about their work. It was also an occasion to celebrate the 50th birth anniversary of
AIFO.
Present on the occasion were: Ms Anna Maria Pisano, AIFO President, Dr Giovanni Gazzoli, Project Manager, Dr Daisy Kandathil, Chairperson, AMICI, India, Mr Jose M V, Representative, Amici, India, Dr Manimozhi, Dr Jayanth Kumar, Dr Parthipan, Mr Patrick, Mr Nijil George and Ms Lucy Bhaskar (Staff of Amici, India).
On the 5th November there was a cultural programme at Kannada Bhavan, Bangalore. Justice (Retd) Shri Shivraj patil was the Chief Guest. A dance performance was put up by the students of Sree Ramana Maharshi Academy for the Blind.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION: On 10th September Teachers Day was celebrated at
We Care, Pratiksha Nivas, Bangalore. The children attending the free evening tuition class, presented cultural items. The programme was attended by the parents of the children and other dignitaries, Ms Malathi, Ms Madhu Satish, Ms Rathnakumari, Ms Chamundeshwari, and others. The children were trained by our CBR staff, Amala and Yashodha.
FREE
EVENING TUITION CLASSES is a regular ongoing activity at
We Care, Pathiksha Nivas for students from the surrounding area. On an average about 25 children attended the classes. The tution class is coordinated by Ms Yashodha and assisted by Mr Augustine. Every evening, after the classes, the students are served with ragi porridge.
Our thanks to Ms Rakhi Neogi, volunteer from Christ University, who taught the students Hindi, English and Mathematics; Ms Chamundeshwari, volunteer, who taught handicraft work and Ms Amala, our staff, who gave an awareness on hygine and cleanliness.
VISIT
TO ORPHANAGE: the children of the evening tuition class were taken for a visit to Gowpyatha Makkala Kendra, a orphanage, in Basapura Bangalore. Some parents also accompanied them along with our staff. The children interacted with the children from the orphanage, sharing their experiences and performing cultural items.
COUNSELING: Ms Rathna Kumari, volunteer Counsellor, visits
We Care
Pratiksha Nivas every Saturday and interacts with the women of the area. She also provides family and personal counseling services to those in need.
